Day 29, Sunday, January 29, 2012

Today we awakened to more snow!  We are under a winter weather advisory until 4:00 PM today.  The snow was supposed to begin at 3:00 AM, but it really didn't begin until after 5:00 AM.  Cheryl took Rosie, Bonnie, Kaitie, Simeon, Mahree, Spencer, & Merica to church with her..Cody, Meika, and Sam stayed home with me. I took pictures of Meika and Sam while they watched our Bible story...Cody took a nap!

 We watched a DVD about Jonah and the great fish.  We talked about giving people a second chance, being kind, and merciful to to others.  I listened to the live feed from Calvary, and Pastor preached about giving--about sharing what we have with others!  Hmmm---tied into our story pretty well!   Concerned there might be a snow day tomorrow.  Since I have surgeryat 7:45 AM tomorrow, that could make the day rather difficult for MaryBeth and Bonnie, so going to bathe the whole day in prayer!

Praying for safe travels for Jody & MaryBeth as they plan to arrive at our home sometime today.

Snow this morning---so pretty!

Shonda's birthday party---we all had a good time, although in this picture, Kaitie's enjoying Shonda's delight--Rosie's taking a nap and Tim is in another world!!!

Someone brought us a cake this week, and we saved it for Shonda's party...We put 9 candles on to indicate the 9 in 39!

During Mahree's ballet class Cheryl dropped Bonnie off to pick up some groceries and it gave me time to get a manicure--wanted to do pink nail polish in honor of Kelby VanDenBerg who is in the NICU.  Team Kelby! 

Kelby was born Jan 7 and weighed 1 lb 6 oz and was 13" long.  She is now 1 lb 11 oz.

We celebrated Shonda's 39th birthday today! Kara, Timothy, Kaitie, Rosie with Ozzie, Bonnie, Shonda and Merica posed for me.

    Sam enjoyed a day off from school--pjs & John Deere--                                   doesn't get any better than this!!

 Mahree made Belgian waffles for breakfast
she is really into presentation!!

Bonnie enjoyed a quiet morning--
we told her to sleep til noon, but
of course, she was up by 10!  Still
that's late for SmileBonn!!

 Spencer and Sam both dressed up in their
super heroes costumes and played for a while,
until Spencer started playing on his Nintendo DS.
Sammy was quite content to observe his big
brother!!

I was privileged to attend the Mid-Winter
Homeschooling Conference as a guest today.
Mrs. Boring (really her name!) does an
excellent job teaching parents how to teach
special needs children!

Kara & Shonda came overnight; we're going
to celebrate Shonda's 39th birthday tomorrow! 
It's really on Feb 6, but with my surgery next

week, we wanted to be sure she had her day!!

Day 24, Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Meika had her toenail
removed from her big toe
today at the Surgical Center.
She cooperated with the
anesthesiologist!!

The nurse gave her a little
toy; she was in pretty good
spirits--if no one was doing
anything to her!!

Day 23, Monday, January 23, 2012

Tink Addy, Mahree's cat was lounging

while the kids worked on schoolwork!

Today I was supposed to be in Ann Arbor for the 3rd & last part of my root canal.

Dr. Cornwall canceled the appointment. I am not disappointed.

Sam goes 1/2 days on Mondays.

After lunch he came in

and announced he had a mustache!

Day 22, Sunday, January 22, 2012

Until I can drive, we have to leave
4 of us home on Sundays, as Cheryl
can only take 8 (9 in a squeeze) to
church. I always have a Bible lesson
for the at home family, and a coloring
page, and then listen to the live feed
from Calvary Church for myself!
Today there was an excellent sermon on anger---part of the text
came from Psalm 4...this brought me to tears, as it was Mom &
Dad's favorite passage in Scripture. They recited it every night
before going to sleep. Mom asked us to read it to her the last
few months of her life, and she would recite it from memory
while we read. Today is Mom & Dad's anniversary, so the timing
of Pastor Jim Samra using Psalm 4 was amazing!





While I watched the live feed, Cody slept,
and Merica and Sam played HiHoCherry-O!
