Merica was seen at the orthopedic doctor's office today.  The nurse cut off her hard splint, and to our consternation, discovered pressure areas.  I felt terrible---I had checked her circulation, and there was no swelling and no complaints from Merica!  They took pictures and sent them to the Urgent Care Center to educate them about what happens when they put splints and casts on too tightly.

 Merica did so well at the doctor's office.  She read me some stories on my Kindle Fire, and then played some games---colored pictures on the Kindle as well!  She did well with her x-rays, too!

 She was fitted with a splint that she must wear whenever she is awake and may now bear weight---can discard the crutches as soon as she can safely walk without them!!  Decided not to send her back to school today, so she can get her "sea-legs" and get her hair done!



Dominique did such a nice job on Merica's hair!

Rhonda posed with Mahree when she went to get her hair done after school.  Both girls wanted corn rows because then they don't have to worry about getting their hair wet in the warm weather!  She put some cool designs in Mahree's hair---I was sent out to get a pony tail for Mahree---Merica adamently did NOT want a pony tail this time!
