We were at the hospital at 6:00 AM, and Jody was in the pre-op room while we waited. Her surgery was scheduled for 7:45 AM, and at 7:30 AM, Cheryl finally asked them if we would be allowed to see her before she went to surgery!
We were finally allowed to get into see Jody, and I gave her the FROG verses that Pepper put together and I laminated for Jody...she read the verses, and Cheryl prayed for her. We had about 10 minutes with her before they had to take her back.
Tom and Jody---the nurses had taken off the sox she was wearing---they are the ones that Bonnie gave her!
Jody was a bit on the tense side, but I think that part of that was because of all the meds, and wondering if we all would be allowed back to see her.
Tom snoozed a bit during the surgery time---surgery took longer than we expected. We didn't go down to eat until after Jody was in recovery---didn't want to miss the doctor. All went well in surgery, and the Doc doesn't expect she will have the pain she's been living with--a real answer to prayer! Said her bones were strong---that the joint was bone on bone...and lots of scar tissue.
The FROG that Sydney made for me to give to Jody meant the world to her, and she got many comments on it...as well as opportunities to tell those who asked what F.R.O.G. stands for. Next to the frog is the laminated card with the verses that Pepper found to go with each letter of FROG!
Cheryl took a picture of me with Jody post op. The pain block was working very well, and Jody was actually feeling pretty good at this point!
